6 Dec 2009 Give thanks to the Lord

The Lord is good. In accordance with the 7 verses reminding us to give thanks to the Lord- 7 members of the church give their testimonies- Alex for clean energy concepts, Connie for the perfect timing for further studies, Mike for God as a partner to meet targets, Danny for God ‘s goodness from 1996 to 1998, Zeny glorified God, William for breakthroughs…

The Lord has been good to his people . The 7 scripture  verses reminded us to not take God’s goodness for granted.

Psalm 106:1

Psalm 106

 1 Praise the LORD. [a]

Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good;
       his love endures forever.

Psalms 107:1

 1 Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good;
       his love endures forever.

1st Chr 16:34

 34 Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good;
       his love endures forever.

Psalms 118:1

1 Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good;

       his love endures forever.

 Psalms 100:4

4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving

       and his courts with praise;

       give thanks to him and praise his name.

Psalms 118:29

 29 Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good;
       his love endures forever.

The Lord  reminds us that we are His creation- we are to remember our maker.  We are to enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to Him and praise his name, for the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.

Just like Noah’s days, those who enter his courts will be saved- and will enjoy the reality of God. Enter through the narrow gate to eternal life and few will find it. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. Once we have entered this narrow gate, we must develop an attitude of gratitude and be thankful for His truth and faithfulness.

God forgives your sins and heal all your diseases. There will not be future judgement on His people.  In the midst of hardships, difficulties and problems, we must remain steadfast- and in everything give thanks- He will satisfies your desire with good things. Once we understand the true characteristics of God, we can enter  His gates with thanksgiving, praise, worship…

Psalms 100:1-5

 1 Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth.

 2 Worship the LORD with gladness;
       come before him with joyful songs.

 3 Know that the LORD is God.
       It is he who made us, and we are his [a] ;
       we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.

 4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving
       and his courts with praise;
       give thanks to him and praise his name.

 5 For the LORD is good and his love endures forever;
       his faithfulness continues through all generations.

Psalms 136:1

 1 Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good.
       His love endures forever.

2nd Chr 6:14-16

14 He said:
       "O LORD, God of Israel, there is no God like you in heaven or on earth—you who keep your covenant of love with your servants who continue wholeheartedly in your way.
15 You have kept your promise to your servant David my father; with your mouth you have promised and with your hand you have fulfilled it—as it is today.

 16 "Now LORD, God of Israel, keep for your servant David my father the promises you made to him when you said, 'You shall never fail to have a man to sit before me on the throne of Israel, if only your sons are careful in all they do to walk before me according to my law, as you have done.'

Matt 7:13

 13"Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it.

Heb 10:19

19Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus,

Psalms 103:2-5

2 Praise the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits-

 3 who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases,

 4 who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion,

  5 who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's.

13 Dec 2009   Can you see ?

Where are the other nine? Out of the 10 lepers that Jesus healed only 1 declared. Why is it so difficult to give thanks to the Lord-  when people suffer spiritual eclipse and total darkness the value of giving glory and thanksgiving to the Lord is lost. Do not be polluted by worldly things  that spoils our desire for  Godly things.

Who should give thanks ?

Why  thanksgiving ?

What  should we thank?

We who are redeemed of  the Lord are the ones to give thanks. Through our thanksgiving, we magnify and acknowledges Him and  Jesus is what we should be thankful for  and we can never thank Jesus enough. He is our all and in all.

LEARN MORE ABOUT THE NAME OF JESUS

Luke 17:12-17

12As he was going into a village, ten men who had leprosy[a]met him. They stood at a distance 13and called out in a loud voice, "Jesus, Master, have pity on us!"

 14When he saw them, he said, "Go, show yourselves to the priests." And as they went, they were cleansed.

 15One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice. 16He threw himself at Jesus' feet and thanked him—and he was a Samaritan.

 17Jesus asked, "Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine? 18Was no one found to return and give praise to God except this foreigner?" 19Then he said to him, "Rise and go; your faith has made you well."

20 Dec 2009 THANK God for sending Jesus

We thank God for sending Jesus that we might live through Him. Jesus is the light of the world, the bread of life, and the author of life, and we are more than conqueror  through Him. We can do all things through Christ which gives us strength. Living in godliness with contentment is great gain.

We are also to live for Him. Very often, in modern day living, we are misguided to acquire more and more  things, wealth ..etc  and to gratify self. There are biblical examples such as the 3 Hebrew children and Daniel   to show how we can live for Him.

In fact, Paul went further to say that to live is Christ and to die is gain.  We are also to live like Him- we have to cultivate a godly manner and be  prayerful- be the  salt of the earth, light of the world to shine forth and influence others for Jesus.

Finally, in order to have the privilege to live with Him – we need to be dead to the  things of this world- we may also suffer persecution, rejection and problems. We must be overcomers.

Nothing can separate us from His  love. He who have ears let him hear.

Through Him because He is our precious gift and His presence give us power and peace ; and

For Him which should be our sole purpose; and

Like Him and his pattern as recorded in the bible; and

With Him enjoying the privileges.

Micah 5:2

2 "But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah,

       though you are small among the clans [b] of Judah,

       out of you will come for me

       one who will be ruler over Israel,

       whose origins [c] are from of old,

       from ancient times. [d] "

1st John 4:9

9This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son[b] into the world that we might live through him.

Acts 2:28

28You have made known to me the paths of life;

      you will fill me with joy in your presence.'[e]

Acts 3:15

15You killed the author of life, but God raised him from the dead. We are witnesses of this.

John 6:35

35Then Jesus declared, "I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty.

John 8 :12

12When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."

Rm 8:37

37No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.

Philippians 4:13

13I can do everything through him who gives me strength.

1st Timothy 6:6

6But godliness with contentment is great gain

Philippians 1:21

21For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.

Rm 1:21

21For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened.

1st John 4:17-18

17In this way, love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment, because in this world we are like him. 18There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.

Col 3:4

4When Christ, who is your[a] life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.

2nd Timothy 2:11

11Here is a trustworthy saying:

   If we died with him,

      we will also live with him;

Col 2:20

20Since you died with Christ to the basic principles of this world, why, as though you still belonged to it, do you submit to its rules:

Col 2:13

13When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your sinful nature,[b] God made you[c] alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins,

Rev 3:20-22

20Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me. 21To him who overcomes, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I overcame and sat down with my Father on his throne. 22He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches."
